At home

03 / Revealed for play

Bring the arcade to the table.

A miniature arcade can have one place for being admired and another for being played.

A room with two lives

AI-generated interior concept: The adjoining dining nook with EGRET II mini stored on the wall shelf and a clear dining table.
At rest. AI-generated interior concept · EGRET II mini in the dining nook of the same home. Its built-in screen and controls need no wireless pad; the power lead is connected for play and stored with the adapter at rest. Generated hardware and screen details are illustrative. Not a measured installation or first-hand hardware test.

The room

Start with a real
everyday life.

The dining nook belongs to the same warm mid-century home as the sitting room. Walnut, plaster and natural light continue through the doorway. The table has more than one job, so the EGRET II mini moves between an open display shelf and a clear seated playing position.

When you’re not playing

The cabinet sits on an open shelf, with its adapter and lead in a nearby container. This is a display or storage position, not an assertion that the shelf is comfortable for active play.

When you are playing

Move the miniature to the clear dining table and connect its USB power supply. Play using its built-in screen, joystick and buttons: no TV cable or wireless controller is required in this setup. Keep the power lead continuous, with slack behind the cabinet, and route it along the rear table edge and leg toward the nearby outlet, away from the walking route.

Where the rest goes

After switching off, return the lead and adapter to their pouch or box and put the cabinet back. A complete kit kept together is more useful than a beautiful object whose power supply is somewhere else.

The achievable version

Begin with
what you have.

Use the table and shelf you have, plus a small container for power accessories. Try the actual playing position before choosing a permanent display height. No new furniture is necessary to test the idea.

The aspirational version

More considered, not more compulsory.

Purpose-sized open storage near the table can make the transition feel natural. A pull-out shelf or tray must be checked for support and stability; it is not automatically a playing surface.

The practical detail

Make the hidden half of the kit easy to find.

The accessory box is deliberately shown beside the machine. In a real arrangement, measure the adapter and loosely arranged lead before choosing the box. The diagram separates equipment from comfortable reach; it does not promise a universal table size.

Check it
in your room.

  • Check stable support and the actual screen/hand position.
  • Keep access for screen rotation; no numeric clearance is established here.
  • Trace the power route so it does not obstruct the shared room.
  • Treat the paddle/trackball controller as an expanded kit with its own storage needs.

No room in this guide has been physically installed or measured. Adapt the idea only after checking your exact equipment and space.
